“Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” is a comedy about a couple of brothers, Mike and Dave Stangle played by Adam Devine and Zac Efron, trying to find good girls to take to their little sister’s wedding. Their parents have forced them to get dates in order to calm them down. Otherwise, Mike and Dave have a tendency to destroy family gatherings.After advertising on Craig’s list, the two brothers wind up on a T.V. talk show where Alice and Tatiana, played by Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza, see that the boys are looking for “good girl” dates – ones that their family would approve of to take to their sister’s destination wedding in Hawaii. The girls hatch a plan to pretend to be the nice girls the Stangles are looking for to get a free trip.All four characters have their own plan and nothing goes right for anybody, leading them to ruin the wedding.As for the comedy, it’s decently funny. Lots of slapstick and body humor, although it lacked a few smarter jokes; for example, the boy’s cousin gives a speech that has some jokes from Chris Rock, and it fell pretty flat.Be sure to bring age appropriate friends though, “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” is not for younger audiences.
